rose garden

(dress: cotton on, shoes: ally, jacket: sydney boutique, bag & necklace: thrifted)

Thanks for all your kind birthday wishes - it really means a lot. I seriously feel so loved. Sorry to have confused anyone with my previous post (I think a few of you thought I was 'expecting' due to the fact that I received a BabyCare book for my birthday)... Well, no. I'm not pregnant, but starting a family is definatley something Scott & I would like to do in the near future. Becoming a mother is pretty much my life goal, so I'm always reading about pregnancy and child-rearing. Call it obsessive if you want - it makes me happy. And my lovely hubby kindy fed my obsession with a good book!

I am totally in love with this dress at the moment. It's super comfy and I feel that it flatters my shape too. Its a cute length and it only cost me $30 from Cotton On (bargain). I wore this outfit on Saturday when we went out for lunch and dinner for my birthday. I had a lovely time, hanging and with some of my favourite people. Will be posting more about my birthday outings shortly. xx

ruffle me up

Woo-hoo... Its my birthday week. And yes, I do celebrate my birthday all week. I wanted to show you all this new dress I bought recently from ASOS. Its got this cute-as ruffle detail around the bust line. Its actually a maternity dress, but can definatley be worn while not-pregnant! It falls really nicely and has a cute button feature at the back. Scott took these photos on our most recent date night - will be posting about that shortly. Happy Wednesday lovelies, speak to you all soon.

pink parcel

I totally snaped at the kids this afternoon. They were not listening, laying on the carpet like they were in their lounge rooms, calling out and in general driving me crazy. I was having a decent day today untill the last session. It was a shame we had to end the day like that. I've been as sick as they come lately as well so that wouldn't of helped either.

I had a high fever last Tuesday - that didnt go away till Sunday morning... I took Thursday and Friday off work to recover only to develop a throat infection. Needless to say, my weekend was filled with cough lollies, tea, panadol, and hours upon hours of playing angry birds while snuggled up in my electric blanket in bed. I started feeling slightly better yesterday, but after my psycho teacher moment with the kids this afternoon, I'm not so sure anymore.

However I was pleasantly surprised to come home to find a tiny little pink parcel waiting for me. Oh how I love receiving parcels! At first I was a bit confused - I didn't remember ordering anything recently... but then as I began to open the box I remembered. I won a giveaway only a week or so ago - it was a silver ASOS cross ring and it fits me like a glove!

As I've been quite ill of late, outfit posts have been out of the question. So instead I took some random photos around the house this afternoon for your enjoyment.

If you havent entered my giveaway - you can do so HERE.
I'll be drawing the winner in the evening of the 18th May

So the time has come to give something back to all who of you who make blogging such a wonderful experience for me. You could be the lucky winner of this vintage picnic storage carry box. Its in fab condition, doesnt appear to have been used at all . A bit of rust on the clasp at the front is its only flaw. It might be leather - but I am not 100% sure. You could use it to store tall glasses,
drinks, or whatever else you can fit in it!

All you have to do....

1. Follow my blog publicly via Google.
2. Leave a comment below with your email address and
tell me where in the world you would love to
go on a picnic!

Giveaway closes on the 18th of May.
I will post the winner on the 19th May - SYDNEY time.

Good luck everyone!
Open to both local & international followers.

love you mum

Hope everyone had a lovely Mothers' Day last Sunday. This was the first Mothers' Day where I spent pretty much every second of the day with mum. I had left the house by 8.30am, picked up some flowers from a petrol station along the way and picked mum up shortly after 9am to take her out for breakfast. Breakfast was AMAZING. Scrambled eggs, toast, chips, creamy mushrooms and gravy (not all that healthy but for Mothers' Day - I made the exception).

Following our breakfast, we both had a one hour full body massage.

Then we drove to our local Trash & Treasure markets, for some cheap retail therapy. I dont remember mum buying anything, but it was fun all the same. I picked up the following three nail polishes for $5.

Next stop - Lunch. As we ate a fair bit for breakfast, we opted for a smaller and more healthy option for lunch. Greek salad for mum, Ceaser salad for me.

After lunch I went back to mums for a few hours where we watched a DVD, before getting ready for dinner with Scott & my mother-in-law.

Love you mum! Thanks for eveything you do and everything you are!

What did you all do for Mothers' Day?
xx

date night

Another fun date night to report on! These photos were taken last Tuesday, we didnt go very far - just a small greek restaurant in our neighbourhood. It was pouring down with rain so we ended up taking outfit photos in the hall-way of our apartment (lucky no one else walked passed at the time).

The dress I wore is actually a recent addition to my wardrobe - I picked it up at a Clothes Swap Party that I recently attended. I wore this dress to work today too, and I think it just passed for being a suitable length to wear around children. I wore it with thick tights and flats and remembered not
to bend over or sit on the carpet.

I went to my doctor last Friday and was told that I have high cholesterol. Obviously I was not impressed. I haven't been very happy with my body for some now and finding out about having high cholesterol really make me snap. So.... I've started excercising daily (something I never ever did). I walked 7km on Saturday and have started walking to and from work this week. My work is exactly 3km from my house so some days I will walk there and walk back, and other days I'll get Scott to drop me off in the morning and i'll walk home. Up until Friday I was a serial snacker..... and I'll have to admit I didn't choose to best things to snack on, so I've changed my entire diet. I'm trying to eat 6 times a day - small and super healthy meals/snacks.

We will be going to Europe on the 29th of July, for a month, so that is my personal deadline - to lower my cholesterol below 5, to loose 5 kgs, and the pudge that I have been carrying around my stomach. I'll keep you posted on my progess, promsie xx.

birthday wishlist

The time has come, its my birthday this month (26th May)! And I though I'd put together a bit of a visual wishlist. To be honest, I have everything I need.... but if presents are going to be received, anything resembling any of the things below will suit me just fine. At the top of my list is a white push-bike (and I'm almost 100% certain thats what hubby is getting me). I would seriously love to have a push-bike. We have a heap of gorgeous bike tracks around where we live and I work less than 10 mins away (driving) so I know I will use the bike heaps.. riding to work and just around the neighbourhood for fun.
