easter

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all had a magical easter! Scott and I started out our day by visiting my parents for a little easter egg hunt - something I will never be too old for! Then we enjoyed lunch at my father-in-laws farm. He got a new horse recently - and she's gorgeous. I even got to ride her for a little bit. She hasn't been named yet, so we've just been calling her "Horse" (how original). We ended up staying the night to give my father-in-law a hand on the farm too. How did you spend your easter?

swap party

So last week Nicole & I went to our first every Clothes Swap Party. I am a total clothes hoard, so when I was invited I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get rid of all those clothes I had been holding onto for years and fill my wardrobe with a bunch of new things (for free!). All in all, there were eight of us, and we swaped clothes, shoes, jewellery, handbags and magazines. It was such a fun night, we just threw all of the stuff we wanted to swap on the ground and then dived in. At the end of the night we showed off our find to the group and packed the left-over items in bags, which we will be donating to Vinnies.

Have you ever hosted or been to a Clothes Swap Party?

midnight shoot

(top: minkpink via thrift store, jacket: dotti, jeans: cotton on, flats: betts, ring: eBay, earrings: thailand)

This is just going to be a real short outfit post. I wore this last week to a Clothes Swap Party (will post about this soon). I was considering taking the jacket to swap too, but changed my mind once I put it on. Do you have clothes like that? They hang in your wardrobe and you look at them thinking "I don't like you, I'm going to get rid of you".... and then you put it on and its love all around.

Hope all my lovely blogging bunnies out there have a fabulous Easter tomorrow.
We are heading over to my father-in-laws for lunch.

open house success

Scott & I held our "Open House" party last weekend, and it was a great success. Our doors were open from 10am till 10 pm... our first guests arriving at 11am. Friends and family continued to stroll in and out from then all the way till 10pm, where we left with our last group of guests for some dancing in the city. I was so far past exhausted that I thought nothing wrong of stepping out for some drinks and dancing. Mind you - when we eventually got home, I crashed into our bed like never before.

All in all, we had a total of 25 guests for the day, and an endless supply of yummy snacks and drinks. The whole thing was Scotts idea, and Im so happy he suggested it. It was a great opportunitty to see a whole bunch of our close friends and family on one day. It gets pretty hard to find the time sometimes to see all the people you're close you - this was the perfect opportunity to see them all!

Just before we headed back home from the city, I got Scott to take some outfit photos for me. For the life of me why on earth am I wearing a jacket as a dress that barely coveres my backside? I have no idea. I'll put it down to exhaustion. By the way - what do you think of my new boots? A big thanks to Emma for blogging about hers, the min I saw them I went out and bought a pair of my own!

wedding video

After waiting for over 7 months, we finally received our wedding video from our videographer. It was well worth the wait, I think they did an amazing job filming and editing all the footage. We received a highlights version (which you're welcome to watch below) that goes for abour 12 minutes, and a longer version with the entire ceremony, speeches, first dance and more footage from the reception which went for abour 2 hours. Our wedding video is something we will keep forever, to show our kids and grandkids, and watch over and over as time goes on - a reminder of the love we share for one another and that special day where we proclaimed that love in front of all our close friends and family.

special date night

(jacket: sydney boutique, top: sheike, leggings: SES, boots; unknown, bag: forever new)

I must start by making a shocking anouncement. The top I wore to our most recent date night (pictured), I actually wore as a dress 3 years ago out clubbing. What on earth was I thinking? It barely covers my bottom as a top (hangs head in shame).

Date night - woohoo. And whats so special about this particular date night you ask? Well... It landed on our 7 year anniversary! How cool is that! It was my choice this week, and so I took Scott to Sophies Greek Restaurant in Balmain. A big thumbs up from both of us, I would highly recomend you check it out! Prices were reasonable too! I had (probably) the most unhealthy selection on the menu - creamy pasta bake. But it was delicious so I dont care.

I am totally stressing right now - tomorrow we are having an "Open-House" party-thingy at our place just to catch up with a whole bunch of friends and family that we havent had the chance to see much since we got married almost 8 months ago. Sound like a good idea right? Well sure it does.... except for the fact that the house is a bomb shelter, there are stacks of dirty clothes to be washes, a decent collection of things that need to be ironed, floors which are dying to be vacumed, a dead cockroach under the buffet, and shoes all over our bedroom floor. Plus I havent prepared any foods to feed all these people who will be dropping by tomorrow either. I'm in for a fun day today.

birthday by the water

We celebrated our good friend, Melanies 25th birthday recently by having lunch overlooking the ocean at Scarborough Pub, Sydney. It was such a gorgeous spot, we had lunch under this little "hut" right on the edge of the cliff. My friends and I have become a little obssessed with my camera at the moment - especially the feature that takes 10 pictures one after the other really fast. So many appologies for the stupid photos - but in all seriousness, we had a ball.

The school holidays have finally arrived! Hope all you other teachers out there enjoy the time away from the kids (I know I will).... and as I have a little bit more time now, I'll try to post a few extra thing for you.

Tomorrow Scott & I are celebrating 7 years together! Conveniently tomorrow is also our fortnightly date night, so I'm super excited to be going out to celebrate this special day. I'll post about our special date night soon. Take care lovelies xx

date night

(dress: thrifted by seduce, jacket: sydney boutique, shoes: myer, clutch: cotton on)

Another fortnight passes, another date night to blog about. Last Tuesday it was Scotts turn to choose a restaurant for our fortnightly "date night". We ended up at The 25th floor Restaurant, Sydney. And yes, you guessed it - it was right up on the 25th floor, overlooking the city. It was a quiet night at the restaurant - only four couples including ourselves there. Food was delicious, I don't remember exactly what my meal was called but it was lamb with baked potatoes.

On a different note - we only have one more week of work until the school holidays so I am super excited about that! We have tween and a half weeks off... and while that may sound like a lot for some people.... by the time I get through all the planning I need to do for work, there will be none of the holidays left for me to enjoy. Oh well.... at least I have the time off work to get myself organised for the next school term.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, take care.
